Statistics Vindicate Gyan Asamoah As One Of World Best Strikers

Last season Proleague golden boot winner Asamoah Gyan is statistically judged to be one of the best strikers on the planet as the 28 year old was the sixth highest goal scorer in the world for the year 2013.

The Black star who plies his trade on Arabian shores with Al Ain Fc scored a whooping 40 goals for both club and country.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo (69), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (47), Lionel Messi (45), Luis Suarez (42) and Edinson Cavani (41) scored more than Asamoah.

Golden boot: Gyan is all smiles after picking up his trophy.

Gyan has been in imperious form since putting pen to paper for Al Ain, he's won two league titles, one UAE super cup and two golden boots since joining the club. Although the defending league champions lye in a distant sixth place on the league table and 11 points off league leaders Al Ahli, The Ghanian star still tops the goal scoring chart with eleven goals in just nine games.

Two weeks ago, Gyan became the first ever player to score 70 goals in two-and-half seasons in the UAE Arabian Gulf League after scoring for Al Ain in their 1-1 home draw with Al Sharjah.

Below is the list of top ten scorers in 2013
